I’m Hayley Dawson, I’m a researcher, educator and founder of Let’s Talk Human Skills.
And I’m so glad you’re here.
People’s first question is usually, “Why do you do what you do?”
I’ve had 16 jobs over 16 years (yes, really!), working my way up from entry level to senior leadership, and I spotted a pattern. The people who were respected and listened to, who got things done and created real impact, and who were offered new opportunities all had strong human skills.
I was one of them.
I wasn’t the best English teacher, or the most talented Spanish translator, or the sharpest subtitler, or the most experienced researcher. But I could communicate, collaborate and adapt well. Really well.
That’s when it clicked: these skills are learnable, and they can transform careers.
I call them human skills because they help us connect and work well with others.
Since then, I’ve created a research-backed human skills curriculum and delivered training to over 5,000 people at organisations like ASOS, The King’s Trust, and UCL. My words have been featured in Forbes and mba.com.
But the real reward?
When people tell me they feel less drained at work, landed the job they wanted, or got a career-changing opportunity because they focussed on their human skills.
I’m a bit obsessed with research, honestly. I love nothing more than digging through studies and finding the insights that will genuinely help you be better at work.
